RS 100 Aegir is a former Norwegian rescue vessel, built in 1988 by Brødrene Aa and designed for rescue operations in the North Sea.
The main machinery consists of two MAN 2842 LE413 diesel engines, each rated at 475 hp, with approximately 8,100 running hours. Auxiliary power is provided by a Perkins generator set. Propulsion is through a Servogear controllable-pitch propeller system. The wheelhouse is equipped with five seats and navigation equipment from Furuno and Simrad.
Below deck are the crew accommodation areas, including a large mess/lounge, galley, toilet and shower, laundry area and three single crew cabins. The aft deck is equipped with a towing hook, with a bollard pull of 11 tonnes, as well as storage areas and access to the tank room. A Bauer 300 bar diving compressor with air storage cylinders is also installed. The foredeck is equipped with a small RIB, HIAB 026 hydraulic crane, anchor windlass and liferafts.
The vessel was previously classed for operation up to 200 NM from the coast; today she is downgraded to 20 NM from the coast.
